Bhutan Jomolhari Trek
The Jomolhari Trek is widely regarded as Bhutan's most beautiful and rewarding high-altitude journey. Eleven days take you from the Paro Valley deep into the kingdom's northern wilderness to the base of Mount Jomolhari (7,326m), one of the most sacred peaks in the eastern Himalayas. The route crosses two passes above 4,800 meters, climbs through alpine meadows and yak herder settlements, and reaches Jangothang — one of the most spectacular base camps in the world, sitting directly beneath Jomolhari's towering north face.
Begin in Paro with a cultural day at Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum, followed by the Tiger's Nest hike as final acclimatization. The trek itself runs seven days through remote valleys and high passes before descending to Thimphu. Every camp is operated to luxury standards, with high-quality tents, insulated mattresses, a private dining tent, and a trekking chef who prepares fresh, organic meals.
