Thirteen days across the full breadth of Bhutan, from the capital Thimphu to the remote eastern valleys few travelers ever reach. Witness the Gomkora Tshechu in Trashigang, explore centuries-old dzongs, and conclude with the pilgrimage hike to Tiger's Nest.
Eastern Bhutan Luxury Tour
Eastern Bhutan is the least-visited region of the kingdom — a land of dramatic river valleys, high mountain passes, semi-nomadic tribes, and cultural traditions that remain largely untouched by outside influence. This thirteen-day journey takes you across the full breadth of Bhutan, beginning in the western capital of Thimphu and ending in the remote eastern district of Trashigang, timed to coincide with the sacred Gomkora Tshechu festival.
Along the way, cross the Dochula Pass to Punakha, visit Phobjikha Valley in Gangtey, and drive into the spiritual heartland of Bumthang. Continue east over the Thrumshing La pass — Bhutan's second-highest road pass — into Mongar and Trashigang.
Witness the Gomkora Tshechu, where pilgrims circumambulate a massive black rock where Guru Rinpoche is said to have subdued a demon. Fly back to Paro to save time, then conclude with the pilgrimage hike to Tiger's Nest and a final drive to the Chele La Pass for views of Mount Jomolhari.
