The Lhasa tour starts in the old city, where the Potala Palace stands above the rooftops and hills, looking out over the valley. As you get closer, you can smell juniper smoke in the air and hear the soft sound of distant chanting. Nearby, Jokhang Temple is the heart of Tibetan spirituality, with butter lamps lighting its dark chapels.

Built in the seventh century during King Songtsen Gampo's reign, Jokhang has a long spiritual history that strengthens visitors' faith. In the courtyard, pilgrims bow, pray, and walk in devotion. Around the temple, the Barkhor is a lively circle of faith, with narrow streets complete with prayer wheels, incense, colorful fabrics, and people moving together on their kora.

After leaving the city center, the tour heads to the large monasteries on the hills around Lhasa. Drepung Monastery spreads across the mountainside with white paths and courtyards, offering quiet spots and expansive views over the valley for reflection. At Sera Monastery, the atmosphere is lively as monks gather in the courtyard, clapping and debating ideas.

The tour finishes at Yamdrok Lake, where blue water, open sky, and open land show the wild and peaceful spirit of Tibet. The lake's clear waters remain beautiful because visitors treat the area with respect. This tranquil setting brings the Lhasa tour to a calm and memorable end.
