Our Nepal-Bhutan tour runs for 14 private days from US$ 13,950 per person, and it exists because the two countries complement each other. Nepal is the Himalaya at full volume — street shrines, trekking lodges, jungle at the mountains' feet. Bhutan is the same mountain range turned contemplative, a kingdom that measures success in Gross National Happiness and caps its visitor numbers by charging a nightly Sustainable Development Fee. Most Nepal Bhutan tour packages sample one country and sprint through the other. This one gives each kingdom a full week.

The journey shape is simple: Nepal first, west to south, then the flight east. Two days in the Kathmandu Valley among its UNESCO squares and stupas. A 25-minute flight replaces the six-hour highway to Pokhara, where your hotel sits on the Sarangkot ridge, and the Annapurnas fill the window at sunrise.

Two nights in Chitwan National Park follow — rhino, gharial, and more than five hundred bird species — before a 20-minute hop returns you to Kathmandu for the flight every traveller remembers: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Kangchenjunga filling past the left-side windows on the way into Paro's dramatic valley approach. Bhutan then unfolds at its own pace — Thimphu, the 108 chortens of the Dochula pass, Punakha Dzong at the meeting of two rivers, a farmhouse hot-stone bath in Paro, and the Tiger's Nest morning that crowns the journey. A final buffer night in Kathmandu protects your flight home from mountain weather and gives the trip the farewell dinner it has earned.

This page sits within our wider luxury Bhutan tours collection and our guide to luxury travel across the Himalayas. Every day below can be adjusted — the itinerary is a starting point, and the version you travel is built around your dates, your pace, and the festivals that fall across them. Booking works the way you would hope: you enquire, we talk through what you want, and we send a written proposal with day-by-day detail, a firm price, and the named properties.
